Over the past few days emotions in Bollywood on the ban on Pakistani artistes are divided. Refusing to wade into the flaming controversy, megastar Amitabh Bachchan today said that he won’t comment on it. Big B was addressing media on his 74th birthday today at where he said that this is not the ripe time to comment on such issue and the nation needs to show solidarity towards the Army.
The horrendous attacks on Army base camp in Uri on September 18 had ignited the spark to ban artistes from across the border. After 19 soldiers lost their lives, Raj Thackrey led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena was the first one to call for a complete boycott. Since then views from the Hindi film industry are both in favour and against it. While celebrities like Karan Johar, Salman Khan and Swara Bhaskar have said that art should not be hindered, others including Ajay Devgn and Nana Patekar have supported the ban.
At the press meet when Big B was asked to answer on the issue, he said it is his humble request to not ask him such questions. The superstar of the millennium said that the nation is furious after the attacks and solidarity towards army is the need of hour.
“I request you all with folded hands that this is not the time to put forward this question. Nation is incensed after Uri attacks and it is time to show solidarity to our jawans. They have sacrificed their lives for our nation and we need to pay homage to them,” said the 74-year old actor.

When Amitabh Bachchan was questioned if he would pay a musical homage to the Uri martyrs, he said he would like to do it but require inputs for it.
Asked about his tweet after the surgical attacks that the Indian army carried on terror launch pads in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), Amitabh said that it was a dialogue from his movie Major Saab. Amitabh had tweeted, “Don’t mess with the Indian army”.
