Actress Ameesha Patel, who has been missing from the silver screen for a couple years, has now taken jibe at newcomer Pooja Hegde over the failure of her debut movie ‘Mohenjo Daro’.
‘Mohenjo Daro’, also starring Hrithik Roshan in the lead has just managed to earn Rs. 55.61crores so far. Targetting Pooja over the same, Ameesha reportedly stated that not every newcomer can get an overnight success like her.
Interestingly, just like Pooja, Ameesha too had made her Bollywood debut opposite Hrithik Roshan in 2000 release ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’. But unlike ‘Mohenjo Daro’, KNPH went on to become a huge hit making Ameesha and Hrithik overnight stars and Patel is too proud of it.
“Of course main chahti hoon ki Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai 2 bane, par usse zyaada audience chhahte hai ki woh bane. Agar app kabhi mere social media par jayo toh log request karte hai, Hrithik aur mujhe, Flimkraft movies ki please come back together for Kaho Na Pyaar Hai 2. Aur Mohenjo Daro ke promotions ke liye bhi, Pooja Hegde ka Dubsmash Kaho Na Pyaar Hai ke gaane pe tha, aur Hrithik ne har jagah KHPH ke hi promotions kiye. I’m sorry the Mohenjo Daro didn’t do that well but har film aise kaamyabi nahi paa sakti, with a newcomer. Kaho Na Pyaar Hai 2 banegi toh bumper opening hi milegi,” Ameesha told an entertainment portal.
She also went on to say that two of her blockbuster movies – ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’ and ‘Gadar Ek Prem Katha’ are incomplete without her.
"Jaise Gadar adhuri hai mere bina, waise hi Kaho Na Pyaar Hai adhuri hai mere bina,” Ameesha added.
Well, Pooja might not get pleased with Ameesha’s remarks on ‘Mohenjo Daro’ failure. We wonder what Hrithik Roshan has to say on this.
