Alia Bhatt has made her mark in the industry with various roles and characters, all of them very different from one another. Her last release Raazi is still the talk of the town that the actress is gearing up for her next film. It is now confirmed that Alia Bhatt will be next seen in Ashwiny Iyer’s next which is a comedy-drama. Written by the Dangal writer-director and Ashwiny’s husband, Nitesh Tiwari, along with the co-writer of the Aamir Khan blockbuster, Dangal, Nikhil Mehrotra, the movie will be a breakaway for Alia from her hear moving character of Sehmat in Raazi.

During the promotions of Raazi, Alia had said in an interview, "Yes, I have met her for something that I am really interested in and hopefully it will all work out. I am really excited about working with her. It's a very nice script."

Reports have it that for this Alia will be stepping into a never-seen-before avatar and the film will go on floors next year. In the meantime, after superhits like Nil Battey Sannata and Bareily Ki Barfi, Ashwiny has a lot of projects in her kitty. The director is collaborating with producer Ekta Kapoor for two films which are co-produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and her own banner Earthsky Pictures.

On the other hand, Alia is a hot favorite of all the filmmakers and has a huge line up of interesting films including Zoya Akhtar’s musical-drama Gully Boy opposite Ranveer Singh, Ayan Mukerji’s fantasy-adventure Brahmastra featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Abhishek Verman’s Kalank alongside Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur. She will also be seen as herself in a guest appearance in Aanand L Rai’s dwarf drama, Zero, featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.
