Actors Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt starrer has entered the coveted Rs 100 crore club in its second week. This is Alia’s second and Varun’s third 100 crore film. ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ has become fourth film of the year to enter the club after ‘Raees’, ‘Kaabil’ and ‘Jolly LLB 2’.
The film collected Rs 2.05 crore on its second Thursday making the total Rs 100.74 crore till now. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to micro blogging site Twitter to share the numbers. He tweeted, “#BadrinathKiDulhania [Week 2] Fri 4.21 cr, Sat 5.90 cr, Sun 7.45 cr, Mon 2.72 cr, Tue 2.45 cr, Wed 2.30 cr, Thu 2.05 cr. Total: 100.74 cr.”
Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ did an impressive business of Rs 62.28 crore on its first weekend. The film won hearts and continued its winning streak by dominating new releases like ‘Machine’, ‘Trapped’ and ‘Aa Gaya Hero’.
The movie which is the sequel of ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’, is Varun’s eight hit in a row. Now, both Varun and Alia have a reason to celebrate. Previously Alia’s ‘2 States’ and Varun’s ‘ABCD 2’ and ‘Dilwale’ entered the coveted club.
Directed by Shashank Khaitan, ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ narrates the story of Badri who tries different methods to make ambitious girl Vaidehi his Dulhania. Audience is mesmerised with the cute chemistry between Alia and Varun and the wonderful music of the film.
