After winning accolades for his performance in ‘Rustom’, Akshay Kumar is busy with his next movie which is creating a buzz because of its quirky title ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’. The movie has now finally got a release date. ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ will be releasing on 2nd June 2017.
The movie is a love story with social satire as it deals with menace of open defecation and is said to be largely based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swacch Bharat Abhiyan.
‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ also features Bhumi Pednekar of ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ fame as the female lead. This is the first time Bhumi and Akshay will be sharing screen space together.
Interestingly, it has been just a week since the movie has hit the floors. In fact, Akshay had even shared a picture of himself along with Bhumi from the sets in which the two were seen taking a selfie outside an Indian-style toilet.
This offbeat romantic comedy also marks the directorial debut of director Shree Narayan Singh and is being shot in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.
‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ will be Akshay’s second release in 2017. The Khiladi Kumar is also working on the sequel of ‘Jolly LLB’ in which he will be seen playing the role of a lawyer.
‘Jolly LLB 2’ is scheduled to release on February 10, 2017. Besides, Akki has also announced two another projects – Neeraj Pandey’s ‘Crack’ and Reema’ Kagti’s ‘Gold’.
Well, with four releases in a year, looks like it is going to be a hectic 2017 for Akshay Kumar.
As of now the actor is hitting the headlines for his appearance of Karan Johar’s much popular ‘Koffee With Karan season 5’ along with wife Twinkle Khanna.
