Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who is all set to wow us again with PadMan, will be seen in the Hindi remake of Tamil horror film Kanchana 2. This will be Khiladi Kumar’s second horror comedy film after Bhool Bhulaiya, which also starred Vidya Balan and Shiny Ahuja in lead roles. Kanchana 2 was a 2015 Tamil horror comedy film directed by Raghava Lawrence, who also acted in the lead role. The movie also featured Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen and Kovai Sarala in lead roles and was a huge hit crossing 100 crore mark. “@akshaykumar to remake @offl_Lawrence - @taapsee 's 2015 Blockbuster #Kanchana2 in Hindi”, South trade analyst Ramesh Bala tweeted.
Interestingly, at the closing ceremony of IFFI 2017, The 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' star revealed that he would like to do a film like 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa'. He stated, "I really like horror comedy. I want to do a film like Bhool Bhulaiyaa. I want to work in a film like that. I am looking for a good script."
On the professional front, Akshay Kumar has an exciting line of tie-ups in store. While his movie, 'Padman' is all set to hit the screens on February 9, Rajnikanth's 2.' will mark the Tamil debut of Akshay. He will next be seen in Gold, where the actor will be essaying the role of hockey player Balbir Singh.
