Actor Akshay Kumar starrer Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is performing well at the box office. The movie has minted Rs 20 cr on the Independence Day. The overall collection of the film now stands at Rs 83.45 cr. The movie is slowly inching towards Rs 100 crore. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha minted Rs 13.10 cr on its opening day. The collections are likely to show growth in coming days. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared figures on social networking site Twitter.
Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#ToiletEkPremKatha Fri 13.10 cr, Sat 17.10 cr, Sun 21.25 cr, Mon 12 cr, Tue 20 cr. Total: ₹ 83.45 cr. India biz. FABULOUS... #TEPK”
Even Akshay’s wife Twinkle Khanna is also happy with the film’s business. The gorgeous lady, who is proud of her husband for doing a film like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha earlier tweeted, “So even the box office needed this Toilet eventually to break free from its constipation-#ToiletEkPremKath Hit Hit Hooray!”
It seems that the flick is going to end the box office’s dry spell. It is yet to be seen if Toilet: Ek Prem Katha becomes Akshay’s consecutive fifth film to enter the coveted Rs 100 crore club.
Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the movie is based on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and creates awareness about open defecation.
