Bollywood’s Khiladi Akshay Kumar, who was lauded for his last film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, will be seen next in 2.0 and Padman. Both the films are reportedly releasing on 26th January 2018, and this has created quite a buzz in the industry. While wife Twinkle Khanna’s productional venture Padman is a biopic, Shankar’s 2.0 is a multi-starrer film featuring megastar Rajinikanth. Now, that speculations on both the movies releasing on Republic Day is high, Akshay Kumar has come to the forefront to speak on 2.0 Vs Padman box-office clash.
"Why would I clash with my own film? It will be either Padman or 2.0.” So basically, he is putting the anxieties of his fans to rest as both the films would not clash. But which film would shift its date? “While Padman is a film that I have produced, 2.0 belongs to Shankar, Rajinikanth and Lyca Productions. They will decide whether they want to release the film on Republic Day. If they do, I will postpone Padman and if they don’t, I will go ahead,” Akshay was quoted as saying to Deccan Chronicle.
Well, this is indeed good news for Akshay Kumar fans as both Padman and 2.0 belong to different genre and look promising in their own individualistic ways.
Earlier it has been confirmed that Akshay is is not a villain in 2.0. “The costume and prosthetics suggest he plays a ferocious character. And he does! But Akshay’s Dr Richard is fighting for the right causes. He struggles against forces that have plundered and devastated the earth”, a source revealed.
