New Delhi: Superstar Akshay Kumar has brought back legendary radio jockey (RJ) Ameen Sayani to announce the promo of ‘Rustom’.
The amazing RJ, who used to enthrall his listeners right from 50’s to 80’s has lend his voice to the audio promo of the film.
Akshay and Sayani have put together a 100 second audio clip which can be heard on air waves all over.
This unique idea, reportedly, was to bring on the 50s and the 60s nostalgia.
"Since the film belongs to that era, it was imperative that there is some angle of retro promotion attached to that as well. Those who have grown up in the times when film promotion was quite active on radio would be able to immediately relate to Ameen Sayani's silken voice that has stayed unique till date," as per a source quoted by an entertainment portal.
Akshay shared the audio clip on his Twitter account.

Ameen Sayani is currently in his mid-80s and not really active, but he was in superb form as son as he came behind the mike.
“Akshay was quite sure that Sayaniji's vocals would be a perfect fit for the retro setting that Rustom boasts of. Moreover, as a mark of a respect for the man who has been a veteran in the business and has entertained three generations of film and music lovers, Akshay wanted to ensure that he got the best and most comfortable facilities to record his voice," the source added.
Sayani started the 100 second clip with his trademark style ‘Bhaiyo and Behno’ and added the suspense element in the story as he went on to introduce the plot and Akshay Kumar’s role as naval officer Rustom Pavri.
He further made it special by using phrases like 'ek sachchi kahaani', 'chal padhi pistol ki goliyaan', 'wafa aur bewafai ki dhuaandaar film' and 'khoon hungama dhamaka'
Akshay Kumar has certainly given something to rejoice to everyone born in early 90s’s by bringing back the magical voice of Ameen Sayani. .
We are sure it would have been an experience of a lifetime for the ‘Rustom’ team too.
