Superstar Salman Khan, while promoting his latest release Sultan, had said that Akshay Kumar is the real sultan of Bollywood.
Salman, who rarely shower praises on industry co-stars, appreciated “Khiladi Kumar’ for doing three movies in a year.
Interestingly, Akshay is looking to make a hat trick of hits in 2016 with ‘Rustom’ as his two releases earlier this year - ‘Airlift’ and ‘Housefull’ were a box office success.
Akshay, on today held a press conference for ‘Rustom’, where he was asked to comment over Salman’s ‘real sultan’ comment. To which he replied that it was great of Salman to say such kind words for him but asserted that he himself doesn’t agree with the comment of ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ star.
Really? Salman Khan approached to replace Saif Ali Khan in Race 3?
"I think it is Salman Khan's greatness that he said something like this. The statement proves that he is a very large-hearted guy and I would not take that thing because he actually is the real Sultan.
I did Brothers, which was set against the backdrop of MMA and the film did not do well at the Box Office. He did a similar film, Sultan, and that did wonders. So now you only answer 'Who is the bigger Sultan at the Box-Office?," said Akshay.
Salman and Akshay, who share a cordial bond, have till now shared screen space in two movies - Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Jaan-E-Mann.
Currently, both the stars are busy with their respective movies. While Salman is set to join the shoot of Kabir Khan directorial ‘Tubelight’ in Ladakh, Akshay is rooting for ‘Rustom’ which will hit the theatres on August 12.
