It is definitely raining biopic all over the Hindi film industry and, Akshay Kumar seems to lead the way. Right from Padman to Gold, the Jolly LLB 2 actor has several biopics in his kitty. Now, rumours are abuzz that Akshay is all set to play Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an upcoming film. While we are all excited for Modi biopic, getting to see Khiladi Kumar in such a powerful avatar will be a delight. Echoing our thoughts, CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani says Akshay will make a perfect Modi.

In an interview with DNA, Pahlaj said, ““I can’t think of anyone better to play our Prime Minster than Akshay. He has a spotless image of an idealist and visionary. And look at the kind of work he’s doing. Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Padman are the cinemas of social reform that Guru Dutt and V Shantaram were associated with”.
Further he added that Akshay has risen from humble working-class beginnings to become a national star, just like our honourable Prime Minister. “ We are certainly looking at a strong possibility of Akshay playing Modiji,” the CBFC chief added.
Akskay as Modi will definitely be a grand treat. However, nothing official has been said about the biopic. Till then, have a look at some upcoming biopics that the 49-year-old actor has signed this year.
Mogul
The film is on the life of the late music baron Gulshan Kumar. Akki will be reuniting with his Jolly LLB 2 director Subhash Kapoor for the film.
Padman
This film is based on the real life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, the inventor of a low-cost sanitary pad making machine. This film is produced by Akshay’s wife Twinkle Khanna and also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in lead roles.
Gold
The sports period film, which is based on former hockey,is set in the backdrop of the 1948 London Olympics. The film narrates the story of independent India's first gold medal win at the Olympics.
