Actor Akshay Kumar is considered as one of the versatile actors of the Hindi film industry. From high octane action sequences to light hearted comedy, the actor has emerged as a tough competition to all the three Khans of Bollywood. Khiladi Kumar has given the credit of his success to filmmaker Priyadarshan.
While giving an interview to a leading daily, Akshay revealed that at the starting of his career he did many action movies and the filmmakers started casting him in such roles only. The actor wanted to try his hands in a different genre. So he shared the idea with Priyadarshan who believed in him and offered him a comedy movie.
The actor said that during that time of his life he used to think he would only be known for two kicks and few punches, adding that to survive in the industry it was important for him to experiment.
Akshay said, “I decided that I have to do something different and I spoke to Priyadarshan. He believed in me and thought I could do comedy.”
The 49-year-old actor praised the director to skies saying that he is a genius. The actor has done many movies with Priyadarshan including ‘Hera Pheri’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’.
Akshay will next be seen in ‘Jolly LLB 2’ alongside Huma Qureshi and Annu Kapoor. The movie is slated to release on February 10.
