Director Anubhav Sinha, who has come up with the sequel to 2001 release ‘Tum Bin’, is planning to rope in international pop star Akon for a song in the movie.
According to the media reports, Akon will be collaborating with Pakistani singer Atif Aslam to recreate the song ‘Tumhare Siva Kuch Na’ from ‘Tum Bin’. Reportedly, this new song will be used as the end credit song.
Apparently, Akon was shortlisted from a list that included international names like Taio Cruz, Usher and Robin Thicke because of his wide audience base in India, his love for Bollywood and his familiarity with Sinha.
While the reports are rife about Akon’s comeback in Bollywood, Anubhav Sinha has reportedly denied zeroing in the star for the movie so far. However, he did made a point that the makers are planning to rope in an International artiste for the movie, but they are yet to finalise on it.
"It's too early to divulge any details as we are in the primitive stages of discussion. However, it is true that we are looking at roping in a top grossing international artiste to feature and collaborate on this song but we have not yet finalised on anyone as of yet”, Anubhav Sinha said in a statement.
"We have already roped in West Indies cricketer Dwayne Bravo to feature in one of the songs called 'Jaegerbomb' with Ankit Tewari”, he added.
Interestingly, if the reports turned out to be true, this won’t be the first time Sinha will be working with Akon. Earlier, the two had collaborated for the song ‘Chamak Challo’ from the 2011 release ‘Ra.One’ starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor.
‘Tum Bin 2’ features newcomers Neha Sharma, Aditya Seal and Aashim Gulati in key roles. The movie is shot in Scotland and is written, directed and jointly produced by Sinha with Bhushan Kumar.
‘Tum Bin 2’ is scheduled to release on November 18.
