New Delhi: Randeep Hooda has become the new sensation of tinselvile. All thanks to his forthcoming movie ‘Sarbjit’.

Based on an Indian farmer who wanders into Pakistan and is imprisoned, this story has always been a rage in the country.

And by portraying Sarbjit on screen, Randeep has become the talk of the town.

The movie also features beauty queen Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in a powerful role. This is the first time Randeep is sharing the screen space with the ‘Devdas’ actress and he is thrilled.

Talking about his experience on working with Aishwarya, the ‘Highway’ actor stated the actress is quite similar to Dalbir Kaur (Sarbjit’s real life sister) when it comes to strength.

"After working with her, I realised that she is loving, motherly and a protective sister. I don't know if people are aware of that side of her. Like Dalbir, she, too, is a strong woman,” Randeep told a leading daily.

The actor also spoke about the bond he shares with Dalbir. He confessed that he was quite surprised when Dalbir Kaur suggested his name for ‘Sarbjit’.

"I didn't pay attention back then. I had seen Sarabjit in the news. Later, somebody forwarded an article to me about Dalbir and the kids wanting me to play Sarabjit in his biopic. I was unaware that a movie on him was being made till I got a call from director Omung Kumar. The biggest reward for me is that Dalbir wants me to offer my shoulder to carry her body when she dies,” Randeep was quoted saying.

"I was shooting a scene in the cell when somebody whispered that Dalbir ji is here. After the scene, I went to check the monitor, and I sat on the chair next to her. We looked at each other and we were in tears. It was overwhelming. I just hugged her and she started kissing me. Since then we have formed a bond. I am still in touch with her,” he further added.

Helmed by Omung Kumar, ‘Sarbjit’ is one of the most anticipated movies of the year and will release on May 20.
