Actor Harshvardhan Kapoor recently made many headlines when he reacted on losing Filmfare award to actor Diljit Dosanjh for ‘Udta Punjab’. He slammed the decision with series of tweets on Twitter.
Now, the actor has clarified that he didn’t think Diljit’s performance was inferior to him and even admitted that he loved ‘Udta Punjab’.
While talking to a leading daily, Harshvardhan revealed that he was perceived differently as he had his own opinion. The actor also appreciated Diljit’s performance.
He said, “One can have an opinion. It’s not like I called out everyone who didn’t like Mirzya. In fact, I loved Udta Punjab, and Diljit was brilliant. The point I was making was very different.”
The actor further stated that people perceive things differently than the other person adding that he has to be diplomatic.
After losing to Daljit at the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut, Harshvardhan expressed his unhappiness on Twitter. He said that the award should go to the newcomer and not the person who had already worked in a different industry.
Harshvardhan made his debut with Rakesh Om Praksh Mehra’s ‘Mirzya’. On the other hand, Diljit who entered Bollywood with ‘Udta Punjab’ had already worked in several Punjabi movies in the past.
Well, Harshvardhan’s sister Sonam Kapoor has maintained dignified silence on the matter. Interestingly, her former co-stars Fawad Khan and Dhanush who were also the winners of debutant awards were the prominent faces of different industries.
Now, Sonam’s take on the whole issue is awaited.
