Actor Akshay Kumar’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, which was based on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, broke box office’s dry spell and entered the coveted Rs 100 crore. But, now the actor is willing to take break from socially relevant films and wants to explore comedy genre once again. Khiladi Kumar has multiple projects in his kitty but none of them are in comedy zone. Padman is a biopic on Arunachalam Muruganantham, who invented a low-cost sanitary napkin- making machine whereas 2.0, Gold and Mogul are also of different genres.
The actor revealed to a leading daily that he wants to balance everything and is not keen to do socially relevant films only. He added that he wants to do a comedy film.
Well, we all have seen Akshay doing comedy in the past. With the kind of films that he has chosen, it won’t be wrong to say that he is one of the versatile actors of the industry. Thus, it would be a delightful treat to movie buffs to watch the Akshay making people laugh.
Akshay did wonders with Toilet: Ek Prem Katha when Salman Khan’s Tubelight and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal disappointed with their box office collections. The movie is Akshay’s fifth 100 crore film in a row after Rustom, Airlift, Housefull 3, Jolly LLB 2.
