Amidst controversies, Karan Johar confirms the release of ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’

Ace filmmaker Karan Johar’s upcoming moive ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ has been besieged by controversies over release for a while now.

The movie is being targeted as it features Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in the lead. But looks like KJo is quite determined about the release of his movie as he confirms that ADHM will be releasing on October 28 as announced earlier.

Johar took it to micro-blogging site Twitter to confirm the news.

In fact, Apoorva Mehta, CEO, Dharma Productions, also released an official statement to substantiate the same, saying "'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' has been cleared by the censor board and we are gearing up for its release on October 28. Diwali is all about love and 'Ae Dil...' is all about spreading love."

Interestingly, it’s been just two days that the Cinema Owners and Exhibitors Association of India's (COEAI) had reportedly announced a ban on ‘Ae Dil Hai Muhskil’ in four states.

The decision came in response to the furore created post the Uri attacks on September 18 which killed 19 Indian soldiers.

Uri attacks have escalated the tension amidst India-Pakistan and even the showbiz industry couldn’t escape the brunt.

Soon Pakistani artists in India were being targeted by Raj Thackeray led MNS, which demanded a ban on Pak celebs and even warned Karan Johar against the release of ‘Ae Dil Hai Muhskil’.

But post Johar’s confirmation about the release of ADHM, KJo is bullish about adding sparkle to Diwali with the Bollywood entertainer.

Directed and produced by Karan under his home banner Dharma Productions, the movie about unrequited love, stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan apart from Fawad.
