Abhishek Bachchan opts out of JP Dutta's Paltan

A couple of months ago, JP Dutta announced his new war drama Paltan, which had Abhishek Bachchan as one of the lead actors. The poster took the social media by storm, considering the number of actors was included in the cast. JP Dutta is a champion in making films based on wars, after making Border and LOC Kargil. Paltan is a war movie based on the Indo-China war which took place during 1960’s. The movie had Abhishek Bachchan, Suniel Shetty, Arjun Rampal, Pulkit Samrat, Siddhanth Kapoor, Sonu Sood, Gurmeet Chaudhary, Jimmy Shergill and Luv Sinha.

In a shocking turn of events, it turns out that Abhishek Bachchan has walked out of the movie, leaving the project hanging. He chose to quit the project just 24 hours before the unit had to leave for Ladakh to shoot for its first schedule. Nobody has a clue why Bachchan has to leave the project.

JP Dutta’s director Nidhi Dutta gave an official statement on Abhishek Bachchan’s exit from the project. She says, “Abhishek Bachchan is no longer part of Paltan for personal reasons best known to him. It has come as a shock to us as this happened less than 24 hours before our unit left to shoot in Ladakh. But we also believe that; especially in the movies we make, it’s the soldiers sitting up there that choose who will play them and recreate their lives on screen. Nevertheless, we wish him luck in his future endeavours. We are already in Ladakh filming with our entire cast and crew and Army personnel. We will announce the actor who is replacing Abhishek in the film soon.”

This decision left everyone wondering why Jr. Bachchan walked out of the project as he doesn’t have any other major project in hand. It was JP Dutta who launched him in Refugee along with Kareena Kapoor. Abhishek himself shared the poster of the film his Twitter account, enthusiastically.
