Abhishek Bachchan is making a comeback after two years sabbatical with Anurag Kashyap's Manmarziyaan. The romantic drama has been produced by Aanand L Rai and will hit the theaters on September 14. The movie which also stars Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal is a love triangle and its trailer and melodious songs have already triggered excitement among people. Kashyap fans are excited to see how the master of dark movies has helmed a romantic story.
But did you know everything was not fine between Bachchan and Kashyap earlier? Yes, it was during the time of Mani Ratnam's 2004 movie Yuva when the cold war between the duo began and existed until they started shooting for Manmarziyaan. Recently in an interview with DNA, the actor spoke at a length on the unspoken turmoil. ''That’s history now. I first worked with Anurag in Mani Ratnam’s Yuva (2004); he had written it. I don’t think he liked my work in the film (laughs). And it’s only fair because we had spent a lot of time doing readings for the film. So somewhere, maybe he felt a little disappointed when he watched the movie. But we never spoke about it. Now, we’ve put all that behind us.''
Bachchan said that Manmarziyaan is the perfect film for his comeback as he was sure that Kashyap will give him sleepless nights and make him uncomfortable. ''Manmarziyaan ticked all the boxes because I instinctively knew that I wanted to be uncomfortable, have sleepless nights and this guy was going to help me do that. Also, I would never allow ego to come in the way of my work,'' he said.
Abhishek Bachchan will also reunite with his wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for a film titled Gulab Jamun.
