New Delhi: After giving two super hits Aashiqui and Aashiqui 2; Bhatt camp is eyeing another hit. But unlike the first two films, the third one will not see a fresh pair. The first one saw Rahul Roy and Anu Malhotra and the second one had Aditya Roy Kapur and Sharddha Kapoor but the story is not the same for the third installment.
It has been confirmed that actors Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt will star in the film. This makes ‘Aashiqui 3’; the third outing of Alia and Sid; the first two being Student of the Year (their debut film) and Kapoor & Sons.
While this is great news for Sid and Alia’s fans; the casting has come as a surprise for many in the industry. Grapevine was rife; that the makers will repeat the cast of the second movie given their sizzling chemistry. Aditya and Shraddha had impressed everyone with their portrayal of Rahul and Arohi respectively. So, bringing on Alia and Sid for the project was quite surprising.
But, filmmaker Mukesh Bhatt revealed the reason behind the selection. Mukesh told PTI;
“Yes, it is true. We have signed Sidharth and Alia for the film. They completely fit the role. When we make films, we look for the perfect casting. They both fit the bill.”

‘Aashiqui 3’ will be helmed by Mohit Suri and the makers are busy figuring out the how, when and where of the film. “"We are currently in the process of figuring out the dates and other details. When it goes on floors will be decided soon,”
said Mukesh Bhatt.
Meanwhile, Aditya and Shraddha are shooting for ‘OK Jaanu’; which is a remake of Tamil film OK Kanmani. A few stills from the film were released a few days ago which cite that their chemistry has gone a notch higher than ‘Aashiqui 2’.
