‘Dangal’ has been on a record breaking spree from Day 1 of its release. It has shattered almost all existing major Bollywood records and created new ones, just like every film of Aamir Khan does.
Now, the sports drama has added the biggest feather in its cap. It has surpassed lifetime collection of another Aamir starrer – ‘PK’, to become the highest earning Bollywood film ever.
Till yet, ‘PK’, that released in 2014, had the honour. No other film for the next two years could even touch the 300 crore mark except for Salman Khan’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and ‘Sultan’.
The biopic added a hefty Rs Rs 31.79 crore in its third weekend, taking its total net collections to Rs 345.30 crore, overtaking 'PK' that had ended its box office run at close to Rs 340 crore.
Now with ‘Dangal’ emerging the highest earner of Bollywood, Aamir, who is the pioneer of 100, 200 and 300 crore clubs, has the top two biggest Hindi cinema grossers to his name. Also, he will also be inaugurating the Rs 350 crore club too in the next 2-3 days.
The film has also become the most profitable venture of 2016, surpassing 'Neerja'.
Well, Aamir deserves both applaud and respect.
