Superstar Shah Rukh Khan impressed movie buffs with his wonderful performance in Swades but not many know that the role was first offered to Aamir Khan. The latter rejected the script thinking that it was boring. However, Mr Perfectionist gave the Muhurat clap when the film went on floors. The old pictures were shared by Swades director Ashutosh Gowariker on social media after the film completed 13 years in the industry.
Ashutosh took to micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote, “hank you for your immense LOVE and REMEMBERING #13YearsOfSwades Here are a couple of really special UNRELEASED stillls from the Mahurat Day! @aamir_khan @iamsrk #SunitaGowariker Also, my experience of #1YearOfTwitter has been EXCEPTIONAL!!”
In the picture, Aamir can be seen in Mangal Pandey avatar posing with the director, his wife and SRK. Swades couldn’t do wonders at the box office but in the film, King Khan has given one of the best performances of his career.
On a related note, SRK is occupied with the work of Anand L Rai’s project alongside Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. He was last seen in Jab Harry Met Sejal opposite Anushka, the movie didn’t perform well at the box office. Aamir, on the other hand, will be seen with Katrina and Amitabh Bachchan in Thugs of Hindostan.
