Bollywood’s Mr Perfectionist is not only loved in India. He has proved his mettle on Chinese box office as well when his Geeta Phogat biopic Dangal released in our neighbouring country. The actor has maintained his winning streak in China with his latest film Secret Superstar as well. The Zaira Wasim-starrer created magnanimous numbers on the first day itself and continues to rake in good revenue.
Secret Superstar has made 10.45 million dollar on its second day at Chinese box-office. On its second day itself, the film crossed the 100-crore mark with flying colours. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Secret Superstar has crossed the lifetime business in India. It is expected to move with the constant pace in its third day as well. It has already made Rs 110.52 crore in China.
Taran Adarsh tweeted: #SecretSuperstar continues its dominance with an EXTRAORDINARY Day 2 [Sat] in China… Hits ₹ 100 cr mark… Crosses India *lifetime biz* in 2 days flat… Expect an equally POWER-PACKED Day 3 [Sun]…Fri $ 6.86 mn, Sat $ 10.45 mn. Total : $ 17.31 million [₹ 110.52 cr]
The audience response to Secret Superstar is even more impressive than that of Dangal. Fans in whopping numbers have given positive feedback to the film.
Taran Adarsh further tweeted: #SecretSuperstar enjoys INCREDIBLE audience rating on Chinese movie ticket and fan rating sites, which explains the IMPRESSIVE footfalls at multiplexes there… Surprisingly, the audience rating is higher than #Dangal, which grossed approx $ 200 mn in China.
It should also be noted that Secret Superstar’s titanic success in China is also attributed to the strong fan base that PK and then Dangal built in the country. Magical numbers at Chinese box office are expected yet another time.
Dangal made a total business of Rs 1459 crore in China, making the total earning to Rs 2000 crore across the globe. The Geeta Phogat biopic has strengthened its position in top 5 highest grossing non-English language films of all time.
