Superstar Aamir Khan, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Secret Superstar, has said that the film is going to be much bigger than Dangal. In an interview, the actor said that both Dangal and Secret Superstar are about the empowerment of the girl child but he thinks that the latter is going to be bigger than the sports drama.
Reuters quoted Aamir as saying, “While both are about the empowerment of the girl child, I feel it (Secret Superstar) is a much bigger film," Aamir said in an interview in Singapore ahead of the movie's release later this month.”
Secret Superstar tells the story of a young girl played by Dangal fame Zaira Wasim, who aspires to be a singer. But, her father’s disapproval forces her to hide her identity as she uploaded her first video on social media. Aamir will be seen doing a cameo in the film.
On the other hand, Dangal was based on the real-life story of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and showcased the struggle of father to make his daughters World Champions.
This is known to all that Aamir’s films PK, Dangal and 3 Idiots received good response at the Chinese box office and the actor was very happy with the kind of relationship he has been developing with the audiences of this part of the world.
