Actor Rajkummar Rao’s Newton was not only praised by the critics, but it also did a decent business at the box office. The film that became India’s official entry to Oscars 2018, has achieved another honour. Yes, Newton has been declared as Best Hindi Film. This is indeed a great news for all cinema lovers and people on Twitter are beaming with happiness. The movie talks about the loopholes in Indian voting system.

Actor Pankaj Tripathi, who played a pivotal role in Newton, has bagged a special mention for his spectacular performance in the film.

Newton narrated the story of government clerk who is sent to a conflict-ridden jungle of Chhattisgarh to conduct free and fair elections. The movie was directed by Amit Masurkar.

Rajkummar was heaped with praises for his spectacular performance. Newton also featured Anjali Patil and Raghubir Yadav in pivotal roles.

On a related note, 65th National Film Awards are being announced by Jury Head Shekhar Kapur. The panel consists of 10 members including Parinda screenwriter Imtiaz Hussain, lyricist Mehboob, South Indian actress Gautami Tadimalla and Kannada director P Sheshadri. Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, Ranjit Das, Rajesh Mapuskar, Tripurari Sharma and Rumi Jaffrey are also included in the panel.
