Bollywood singer, who is also fondly known as ‘Golden Man’ was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 63rd Filmfare Awards for his contribution to the Bollywood music industry. The official handle of Filmfare posted the picture of the moment when Bappi Lahiri was being presented with the coveted award.
"Thank you Jio Filmfare. I am very happy. I would like to dedicate it to my parents, wife and my full family. It's a hard work of 46 years," he said while receiving the trophy.
Vidya Balan, who was also on stage to give him the award, termed the moment to be "special", as according to her, the 'Disco Dancer' singer gave her the most successful song of her career.

The 'energy-packet' of BTown, Ranveer Singh, was also on stage with Bappi Lahiri and Vidya, as he gave a tribute to the legendry singer with a performance that had his iconic songs like 'Pyar Bina Chain Kahaan Re', 'Pag Ghungroo Bandhe', 'Tamma Tamma', 'Tune Maari Entriyan' among others.
Irrfan Khan bagged the Filmfare Award for Best Actor in Leading Role (Male) for Hindi Medium, while the movie won the Best Film (Popular) award at the gala event. Vidya Balan, on the other hand, won the Best Actor in Leading Role (Female) for Suresh Triveni’s Tumhari Sulu.
