2.0 (Hindi) Box Office Collection: Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar's sci-fi continues golden run in week 2

It seems Rajinikanth's 2.0 (Hindi dubbed) is in no mood to settle for less than Rs 200 crore. Director Shankar's sci-fi has already crossed Rs 600 crore benchmark worldwide, putting Tamil cinema on the globe yet again. The movie, which is receiving applause for VFX is a sequel to 2010 blockbuster Enthiran. 2.0 has completed two weeks at the box office and it has shown an impressive total.

Hindi version of 2.0 has so far minted Rs 166.75 crore. The movie made Rs 139.75 crore in week 1 and Rs 27 crore in week 2. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to write, ''#2Point0 biz at a glance...Week 1: ₹ 139.75 cr [8 days; released on Thu] Weekend 2: ₹ 27 cr Total: ₹ 166.75 cr India biz. Note: HINDI version. SUPER HIT.''

Rajinikanth's 2.0 also features Akshay Kumar as an antagonist. With this sci-fi film, Akshay marks his south debut. It is also for the first time, the actor was seen in a negative character. The movie revolves around a robot (Chitti) and Pakshi Rajan, played by Akshay. The flick is all about the battle between good versus evil.

On a related note, 2.0 has shattered several records by minting Rs 620 crore worldwide. It not only broke lifetime worldwide collection of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmaavat but also became third Indian movie after Padmaavat and Sanju to cross 5 million dollars at the US box office. On a related note, Padmaavat's total box office collection worldwide was Rs. 560 crore

Makers of 2.0 are now waiting for its release in China. Theatres in the neighbouring country have emerged to be a promising market for Indian films.
