The promotions of the movie 2.0 is going to be grander than you’ve imagined. Reports are doing round that hot air balloons having the pictures of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar will be floated in London, Dubai, San Francisco, Europe and Australia. The most anticipated movie of the year is made with a budget of Rs 400 crore by Subaskaran Allirajah under the Lyca Productions banner.
The filmmakers are leaving no stone unturned when it comes to the promotional strategy of the film. It is evident that they want to make this film a historical success. The flick is slated to release on January 25, 2018 but the promotional strategies will kick start seven months ahead of the release date.
As a part of the promotions, a hot air ballon with life-size images of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar will float over Hollywood Signage in Los Angeles on Tuesday, June 27. Also, the hot air balloons will be deployed in London, Dubai, San Francisco, South East Asian countries, Europe and Australia. The hot air balloons will also be used for promotional activities in selected cities of India.
"The hot air balloon will travel around the world and will be showcased in balloon festivals around the world. As we don't look at this film as an Indian production but a Hollywood movie, we wanted to do something different. So, we ordered for a 100-foot-tall hot air balloon eight months ago," The Hindu quoted Raju Mahalingam, creative head, Lyca Productions, as saying.
"On Tuesday, the balloon will be up over the Hollywood signage in Los Angeles. Balloons will fly in London, Dubai, San Franscisco, South East Asian countries, Europe and Australia. We hope to involve well-known film stars from across the country to participate in the ride," Raju Mahalingam added.
The multilingual action drama film which will feature Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in the lead role will hit the theatres in January next year. It is a sequel to Endhiran/Robot. All the other details of the film have been kept under the wraps to spark the curiosity among the fans. For further details, we have to wait for the makers to drop a cue.
