Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor collaborated once again on silverscreen after 27 years in 102 Not Out. Last, they were seen together in Ajooba. The film directed Umesh Shukla released on silverscreen this Friday and saw mixed reviews from the critics, with most of them lauding the veteran actors’ performance. However, talking about the box office report, the Amitabh Bachchan-starrer started on a slow note.
The film started with a tepid numbers initially, however the word of mouth lead to a spike in the earning as the day progressed.
Following the opening of the movie, film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted, "Like most content-driven films aimed at families, #102NotOut started on a slow note, but gathered momentum from evening onwards... A HEALTHY GROWTH is on the cards on Sat and Sun... Word of mouth is SUPER-STRONG... Fri ? 3.52 cr. India biz."
In 102 Not Out, Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor are playing the roles of father and son for the first time. Big B is portraying a full-of-life 102-year-old man while the Karzz actor his dull 75-year-old son. The film has been written by playwright Saumya Joshi and is based on her Gujarati play which goes by the same name.
102 Not Out released on May 4, clashing with Rajkummar Rao’s Omerta.
Hansal Mehta’s docu-drama, on the other hand, minted only Rs 54 lakh on Indian box office. It chronicles the life of Pakistan-origin British terrorist Saeed Omar Sheikh, who was the master mind behind Daniel Pearl Kidnapping and Murder.
