Bollywood’s megastar Amitabh Bachchan and veteran actor Rishi Kapoor are to share the screen space in 102 Not Out this year. After starring in the film Amar Akbar Anthony, Rishi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan are featuring in 102 Not Out after a gap of 40 years. Both Kapoor and Bachchan shared a mini video on their social media account, announcing the news to the fans. The film is helmed by Umesh Shukla.
102 Not Out was slated to release in December 2017 itself, but due to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, the release had been deferred. Also, due to the outrage by Karni Sena, the makers postponed the release of the film.
Talking about Umesh Shukla, before 102 Not Out, he directed Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar-starrer Oh My God and later All Is Well, which had Rishi Kapoor as one of the actors. In the film, Rishi Kapoor is going to play Amitabh Bachchan’s son.
102 Not Out is based on Saumya Joshi’s Gujarati play which goes by the same name. It revolves around a father-son relationship between Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor.
Fans are excited to watch two of the greatest actors of Bollywood together once again. Amitabh Bachchan revealed in an interview that it took 3 hours of time for him to get ready for his role in 102 Not Out. Also, for removing makeup, it took 1 hour.
102 Not Out is being co-producer by Sony Pictures International with Shukla’s Benchmark Pictures and Treetop Entertainment. The film is slated to release on May 4, 2018.
