The Khiladi of Bollywood Akshay Kumar has hit a century yet again. The actor’s latest film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, which also starred Bhumi Pednekar has crossed Rs 100 crore mark and has earne a total of Rs 115 crore till now. Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the film hit the cinemas on August 11 and wowed the audience and critics with its impactful social message. Interestingly, with this new entry into 100 crore club a total of eight films featuring Akshay Kumar manage to feature in the list.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to announce the eight day collection of the film. “#ToiletEkPremKatha crosses ₹ 100 cr on Day 8... [Week 2] Fri 4 cr. Total: ₹ 100.05 cr. India biz. #TEPK”, he wrote.
Toilet: Ek Prem Katha that has minted Rs. 100.5 crore at the box office is Akshay’s film to cross the mark making it in just 8 days. Previously the fastest Akshay Kumar starrer to cross the 100 mark was Rustom, which took 9 days.

Actor Akshay Kumar has once again proved that good script is the most prominent factor to make film a hit. When movies of superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan disappointed audiences, expectations were high from Akshay’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. Based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the film creates awareness of open defecation. The collections of Akshay starrer indicate that the movie has succeeded to win hearts.
Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is a love story which follows its leads Keshav and Jaya whose lives are dishevelled by the practice of open defecation in the rural settings of the country. Jaya, belonging to a progressive family, decides to abandon her husband’s house due to lack of toilets.
