Aamir Khan starrer ‘Dangal’, as expected, is all set to do wonders in Bollywood. With smashing opening and positive word of mouth, the film has entered the coveted 100 crore club within the three days of its release.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the details. He tweeted, “#Dangal Fri 29.78 cr, Sat 34.82 cr, Sun 42.35 cr. Total: ₹ 106.95 cr [incl Tamil and Telugu]. India biz. FANTABULOUS!”
The film witnessed houseful theatres on its first day and minted Rs 29.78 cr. On the second day, it earned Rs 34.82 cr showing the growth of 16.92%. However, on its third day ‘Dangal’ clocked Rs 42.35 cr making its entry to the coveted 100 crore club. It has become the seventh film to hit the century within three days.
This is Aamir’s fifth movie to make it to the club after ‘Ghajini’, ‘3 Idiots’, ‘Dhoom 3’ and ‘PK’. The film has also performed well in international box office. Despite of having different story lines, ‘Dangal’ was compared to Salman Khan starrer ‘Sultan’, and too much to the disappointment of Aamir’s fans, the movie couldn’t break the opening day earning of the latter.
It is still to be known, how the coming days will affect the flick’s business. It is expected that the movie will continue its winning streak and will make many records.
On a related note, ‘Dangal is based on the real life story of Mahavir Singh Phogat. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, it also stars Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sakshi tanwar in prominent roles.
