Referring to the Kairana exodus, the Chief Minister said that his government was committed to establishing the rule of law and order and such incidents could not recur.
The Chief Minister alleged that under previous state governments, there were "riots every week" and they had failed to nab rioters and curb organised crime.
Adityanath said that the first challenge before him when he took charge as the CM was to control crime in the state, adding that stability in law and order is attracting investment in the state.
The home minister, who is a Lok Sabha member from Lucknow, said in the civic polls, the voters get a chance to establish a direct connection with the leaders.
Yogi Adityanath said that Ghaziabad's industrial character would be revived and that he will make Ghaziabad a smart city through the local bodies.
Akhilesh Yadav also criticised the Yogi Adityanath government for the plight of potato farmers and non-payment of arrears to cane growers, among others.
The Congress vision document, Haq Purti Patra, lays emphasis on "empowering local bodies through constitutional amendments".
