Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao, also known as KTR, is the current Telangana Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Information Technology, Electronics and Communications and Industries and Commerce in his father K Chandrashekhar Rao's Cabinet. He is also the working chief of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). KTR won the Sircilla constituency four times in a row in 2009, 2010 (bypoll), 2014 and 2018. KTR won the Assembly Election from Sircilla in 2009 by defeating Independent candidate KK Mahender Reddy with a margin of just 171 votes. He retained the constituency in 2014 by defeating Congress candidate Konduru Ravinder Rao with a massive margin of over 53,000 votes. In the 2018 Telangana Assembly Election, KTR again won the seat with a record margin of over 89,000 votes. He is again contesting the upcoming Telangana Assembly Election 2023 from Sircilla.
