Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy is the Congress leader and a former member of the Telangana Assembly from the Munugode constituency. In the 2018 Telangana Assembly Election, Raj Gopal Reddy won Munugode by defeating Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) candidate Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy with a margin of 22,552 votes. However, Raj Gopal Reddy joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2022 and resigned from the Assembly. In 2023, he again contested from Munugode in a bypoll and lost to Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy by 10,309 votes. He is again with the Congress party and contesting the upcoming Telangana Assembly Election 2023 from Munugode against BRS candidate Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy and BJP's Chalamalla Krishna Reddy. Raj Gopal Reddy also represented the Bhongir Lok Sabha constituency from 2009 to 2014. In the 2009 Lok Sabha polls, Reddy defeated Communist Party Of India (Marxist) candidate Nomula Narsimhaiah by 1,39,888 votes. However, he lost the 2014 Lok Sabha Election from the same constituency. He is one of the richest candidates in Telangana.
