RR Nagar Assembly Bypoll Counting Result 2018: In a major victory for Congress, its candidate Muniratna has won from the RR Nagar constituency by a margin of 25492 votes. After 18 rounds of counting Congress Munirathna secured 108064, BJP Thulsi Muniraju Gowda Secured 82572 and JDS Candidate G H Ramachandra secured 60380.
The polling on the seat was postponed by the Election Commission following the recovery of nearly 10,000 voters ID cards from a flat in the constituency in Karnataka's capital Bengaluru.

12:50 am: Congress candidate Muniratna has won by 41162 votes from Rajarajeshwari Nagar assembly constituency
11:25 am: Congress candidate Muniratna leading with 46218 votes from Rajarajeshwari Nagar Assembly constituency after tenth round of counting .
10:30 am: Congress takes a decisive lead in RR Nagar Assembly seat in Karnataka. After 7 rounds of counting, Congress gets 61517 votes, BJP 25525, JDS 11626 votes.
10: 25 am: After 6th round of counting, Congress' Munirathna leading with 52,285 votes. BJP lags behind with 20,858 votes and JD(S) third with 10,123 votes.
10:10 am: In RR Nagar Assembly seat, Congress extends lead with 23677 votes. BJP on second spot witj 17948 votes, JDS on third spot with 8470 votes.
09:40 am: Congress candidate Muniratna leading by over 18,000 from Rajarajeshwari Nagar assembly constituency after the fourth round of counting
08:55 am: Congress taken lead with 4100 votes after the first round of counting on RR Nagar Assembly seat in Karnataka
08:15 am: Counting on RR Nagar Assembly bypoll underway. 550 postal ballots to be counted first.
The result in RR Nagar could have drastic implications on the direction of the JD(S)-Congress alliance in Karnataka as the two sides fielded separate candidates on the seat.

The Congress has fielded previous RR Nagar MLA Muniratna, while the BJP has nominated Muniraju Gowda PM. The JD(S) had announced GH Ramachandra, who was previously with the BJP, as its candidate.
During Monday's polling, 53 per cent people turned up to cast their votes.
