Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his two deputies have been chosen as the star campaigners for the upcoming assembly polls in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram by BJP.

The decision to enlist CM Adityanath as the star campaigner was taken in a BJP meeting held at the chief minister's residence in Lucknow last night. The BJP leadership also decided to enlist the services of Deputy CMs Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dr Dinesh Sharma, along with several other local party workers, for the campaigns.

Yogi Adityanath had also actively campaigned for the BJP during the Gujarat and Karnataka assembly elections earlier this year. He had addressed several rallies, roadshows and meetings. According to sources, the public's positive response to Adityanath rallies during the past polls has enticed the party to use the star campaigner again in the upcoming polls.

With an eye on the saffron vote bank, BJP is expected to use Adityanath during campaigns in Rajasthan's Sikar, Alwar, Churu and Jaipur, while Maurya is likely to campaign for BJP in areas with majority backward and very backward communities in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

The polling in five states will begin from November 12 and conclude by December 7. The counting for all poll-bound states will be held on December 11.
