Speaking about the possibility of an alliance with Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) for the upcoming assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Samajwadi party President Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday said he will hold talks with the Mayawati-led party as Congress made them "wait for long".
Just as the assembly election in Madhya Pradesh is drawing near, turbulences are being witnessed in the political circles, with many wanting to enter into alliances with the sole aim to form government in the state.
"Congress has made us wait for long. We will hold talks with BSP," Akhilesh Yadav was quoted as saying by ANI.
Earlier this week, Mayawati dumped the Congress for an alliance in the upcoming Assembly polls in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
Mayawati's decision served a body blow to the Congress' aim of stitching a Grand Alliance or Mahagathbandhan against the BJP ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Mayawati had said that BSP will contest Assembly polls in Chhattisgarh with former CM Ajit Jogi's outfit.
