Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Monday visited the famous Maihar temple near Satna in the poll-bound Madhya Pradesh and paid obeisance to Goddess Sharda.
In Maihar, after holding a roadshow on Sunday night, he stayed overnight, some 36 km from the Satna district headquarters.
He was accompanied by state president Rakesh Singh and Lok Sabha MP from Satna Ganesh Singh among others.
He spent nearly 10 minutes there before leaving for Narsinghpur district where he addressed a public meeting. Since the last couple of days, he had been crisscrossing the state and addressing a number of election rallies.
BJP is ruling the state since the last 15 years and is seeking a fourth consecutive term in office.
On November 28, Madhya Pradesh will have a single phase polling for its 230-member assembly. The counting of votes will take place on December 11.
