Madhya Pradesh (MP) is a state in central India with its capital in Bhopal. It is nicknamed as "Heart of India" due to its geographical location. MP is the second-largest state in the country by area and the fifth-largest state in the country by population.
MP borders Uttar Pradesh to the northeast, Rajasthan to the northwest, Chhattisgarh to the southeast, Maharashtra to the south and Gujarat to the west. MP has 51 districts.
