The Congress has left the Jatara seat for its ally Loktantrik Janata Dal.

The Congress in Thursday released its sixth list of seven candidates for the upcoming Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections. The party has fielded Arun Yadav from Budhni constituency against CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan. In 2013, Chouhan had defeated Congress's Mahendra Singh Chauhan by 84,000 votes from Budhni.

The Congress has left the Jatara seat for its ally Loktantrik Janata Dal. The party has given ticket to Sanjay Shukla from Indore-1, Mohan Singh Sengar from Indore-2 and Satyanarayan Patel from Indore-5 constituencies.

Earlier in the day, the Congress released fifth list of 16 candidates. The party named Sartaj Singh, who had recently left the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), as its candidate from Hoshangabad constituency.

The Congress announced its first list of 155 candidates on November 3 in which it renominated 46 MLAs. A day after, it announced the second list of 16 candidates.

On Monday night, the Congress announced a third list of 13 candidates. The fourth list was announced Wednesday.

In the current assembly, the Congress has 57 MLAs.

The Congress has been out of power in Madhya Pradesh since 2003. The incumbent BJP led by CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan is seeking a fourth straight term.

Madhya Pradesh will vote on November 28 to elect a new government and stakes are high for both the ruling BJP and Congress.
