In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Abhishek Banerjee from AITC won the seat and was polled 508,481 votes with a vote share of 40.31%. CPM Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Results -CPM candidate Dr. Abul Hasnat got 437,183 votes (34.66 %) and was the runner-up.Abhishek Banerjee defeated Dr. Abul Hasnat by a margin of 71,298 votes.
