The INC, the ADMK are the main parties in the constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Dr.k.jayakumar from INC won the seat with a margin of 356,955 votes. Dr.k.jayakumar was polled 767,292 votes with a vote share of 54.00 % and defeated Dr.p.venugopal from ADMK who got 410,337 votes (29.14 %). In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Venugopal.p.(dr) from AIADMK won the seat and was polled 628,499 votes with a vote share of 50.10%. VCK Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Results -VCK candidate Ravikumar.d got 305,069 votes (24.32 %) and was the runner-up.Venugopal.p.(dr) defeated Ravikumar.d by a margin of 323,430 votes.
