The constituency is a ST seat. The NDPP, the INC are the main parties in the constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Tokheho Yepthomi from NDPP won the seat with a margin of 16,344 votes. Tokheho Yepthomi was polled 500,510 votes with a vote share of 50.00 % and defeated K L Chishi from INC who got 484,166 votes (48.06 %). In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Neiphiu Rio from NPF won the seat and was polled 713,372 votes with a vote share of 68.60%. INC Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Results -INC candidate K. V.
