The Uttara Kannada seat comprises 8 Assembly segments including Khanapur, Kittur, Haliyal, Karwar, Kumta, Bhatkal, Sirsi, Yellapur. The constituency is a GENERAL seat. The BJP, the JD(S) are the main parties in the constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Anantkumar Hegde from BJP won the seat with a margin of 479,649 votes. Anantkumar Hegde was polled 786,042 votes with a vote share of 68.00 % and defeated Anand Asnotikar from JD(S) who got 306,393 votes (26.54 %). In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Anantkumar Hegde from BJP won the seat and was polled 546,939 votes with a vote share of 54.61%. INC Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Results -INC candidate Prashant R Deshpande got 406,239 votes (40.56 %) and was the runner-up.Anantkumar Hegde defeated Prashant R Deshpande by a margin of 140,700 votes.
