In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Nalin Kumar Kateel from BJP won the seat with a margin of 274,621 votes. Nalin Kumar Kateel was polled 774,285 votes with a vote share of 58.00 % and defeated Mithun M Rai from INC who got 499,664 votes (37.14 %). In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Nalin Kumar Kateel from BJP won the seat and was polled 642,739 votes with a vote share of 53.23%. INC Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Results -INC candidate Janardhana Poojary got 499,030 votes (41.32 %) and was the runner-up.Nalin Kumar Kateel defeated Janardhana Poojary by a margin of 143,709 votes.
