The BJP, the INC are the main parties in the constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, V. Srinivas Prasad from BJP won the seat with a margin of 1,817 votes. V. Srinivas Prasad was polled 568,537 votes with a vote share of 45.00 % and defeated R. Dhruvanarayana from INC who got 566,720 votes (44.60 %). In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, R. Dhruvanarayana from INC won the seat and was polled 567,782 votes with a vote share of 50.10%. BJP Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Results -BJP candidate A. R. Krishna Murthy got 426,600 votes (37.64 %) and was the runner-up.R. Dhruvanarayana defeated A. R. Krishna Murthy by a margin of 141,182 votes.
