Sadananda Gowda from BJP won the seat with a margin of 147,518 votes. D.v. Sadananda Gowda was polled 824,500 votes with a vote share of 53.00 % and defeated Krishna Byregowda from INC who got 676,982 votes (43.39 %). In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, D.v Sadananda Gowda from BJP won the seat and was polled 718,326 votes with a vote share of 52.91%.
