The BJP, the JVM are the main parties in the constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Nishikant Dubey from BJP won the seat with a margin of 184,227 votes. Nishikant Dubey was polled 637,610 votes with a vote share of 53.00 % and defeated Pradeep Yadav from JVM who got 453,383 votes (37.96 %). In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Nishikant Dubey from BJP won the seat and was polled 380,500 votes with a vote share of 36.25%. INC Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Results -INC candidate Furkan Ansari got 319,818 votes (30.47 %) and was the runner-up.Nishikant Dubey defeated Furkan Ansari by a margin of 60,682 votes.
