The South Goa seat comprises 20 Assembly segments including Ponda, Siroda, Marcaim, Mormugao, Vasco-da-gama, Dabolim, Cortalim, Nuvem, Curtorim, Fatorda, Margao, Benaulim, Navelim, Cuncolim, Velim, Quepem, Curchorem, Sanvordem, Sanguem, Canacona. The constituency is a GENERAL seat. The INC, the BJP are the main parties in the constituency. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Cosme Francisco Caitano Sardinha from INC won the seat with a margin of 9,755 votes. Cosme Francisco Caitano Sardinha was polled 201,561 votes with a vote share of 47.00 % and defeated Adv. Narendra Sawaikar from BJP who got 191,806 votes (45.16 %). In the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, Adv. Narendra Keshav Sawaikar from BJP won the seat and was polled 198,776 votes with a vote share of 48.42%. INC Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Results -INC candidate Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco got 166,446 votes (40.55 %) and was the runner-up.Adv. Narendra Keshav Sawaikar defeated Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco by a margin of 32,330 votes.
